On this workshop you will learn about the techniques involved in making a handbag by producing your very own designed bag from start to finish.
The course includes:
-Designing your bag
-Understanding patterns
-Cutting leather accurately
-Using leather tools
-Using an industrial sewing machine
-Putting zips and pockets in
-Fitting hardware
-Making handles
Some preparation will be required to ensure that the bags can be finished within the time frame. A discussion about designs and materials will take place before the workshop.
It is a small class - practically private tuition - each student is fully supported to finish their own bag.
Please be aware that we use a flatbed sewing machine. This course does not teach hand stitching or tooling.
This course takes place 9.30 - 3pm Weekdays and 11 - 5pm Saturdays
